Hi, I’m Madi!

I am a mixed methods UX researcher using empathy and methodological rigor to build experiences that help people lead better lives. In my spare time, I created and continue to teach an undergraduate course that helps students develop these skills too. I’ve been working as a UX Researcher in health tech since 2018, and I’ve been lucky to study many types of users (doctors, provider office staff, clinical coders, patients/members, pharmacists, and more). Download my resume.

As you peep my portfolio, here’s what I hope you take away:

  1. I see research as a way to de-risk decisions. My study designs focus on doing as much as we can with the time and resources we have access to.

  2. There’s a time and place for each research method, and research questions should guide every decision (study design, methods, sampling plan, analysis, etc). That’s how we scope tight projects.

  3. I really enjoy complex problem spaces. From Class 2 medical devices to Risk Adjustment coding, I love the challenge of explaining complex things in simple ways. My first love is the “problem” - not any potential solution. Though my experience has been hyper-focused on health tech, I feel confident my philosophy, paradigm, and skills translate to any company that believes in the power of user research.
